10 Tips for Your Best Nascar Race Experience

Whether you're going to your first race or your 50th race, one can only be so prepared! As someone who has seen her fair share of Nascar races, I'm here to share the few things I've learned to help you best prepare to have a good time without worrying about forgetting something  you may have not thought of before!

DON'T FORGET YOUR EAR PLUGS!

Depending on the size of the track and where you're watching the race from, it can get extremely loud! Smaller tracks have less area for noise to go, so it's loud as hell everywhere! I normally don't wear earplugs when I go, but after visiting the smallest racetrack in Martinsville I was so unprepared for that loudness and desperately searching for some at the track! Don't let this happen to you!

SUNSCREEN PAIRED WITH A HAT ISN'T A BAD IDEA!

Sunscreen alone is an absolute must no matter where you are at the track! But a lot of times forgetting a hat, happens! Unless you want your scalp to be sunburned, I advise you to not leave the house without one! If you forget, you can always buy one at the track repping your favorite driver!

SPEAKING OF FAVORITE DRIVER, DO BRING A SHARPIE!

A black sharpie and a silver sharpie are always best to keep on hand! Depending on your ticket type, you're able to sign the track before the race starts and you don't want to miss out on that cool opportunity! Most people carry black and sign the white spaces of the checkered start/finish line, so having silver allows you to sign in an area where you're least likely to have someone write over it! Also, you literally never know who will be walking around! Don't end up a sharpie-less fan who unexpectedly meets their fav driver and can't get their autograph!

HAVE A RAIN PONCHO OR UMBRELLA ON HAND

It's always a good idea to keep one of the two of these with you! Nascar will most of the time attempt to dry the track off before resuming a race if it rains, but that's not to say that it wont end up pouring! Even worse, if it continues to pour and they call it off, you're gonna want to stay dry on that long walk back to your car...trust me on this!!

COMFY WATERPROOF SHOES

If you're gonna be walking around the pits during the race, I beg of you to not wear heels! Races can go on for hours and depending on where you are, there's not always an opportunity to sit often! Bring comfortable shoes so you don't get blisters! If they're waterproof too that's a plus!

WATCH THE WEATHER RADAR

Mentioned above are several things to prepare yourself for crappy weather, but if you really want to know if it's going to rain on your race is to watch that radar!

STAY HYDRATED

Sitting for long periods of time in the stands, or walking around for countless hours you're going to get dehydrated fast! Be sure to bring some water with you or don't forget to purchase some at the nearest concession stand!

BRING A FOLDABLE CHAIR OR STADIUM CHAIR

This is especially important because those metal bleachers get hot as hell! Bringing yourself a cushion seat to sit on top of is literally going to save your ass from getting burned!

PORTABLE PHONE CHARGER

You know those battery banks that you can carry in your purse? Ya might wanna bring one of those! You don't want a dead phone when there's a perfect photo opportunity!

WATCH THE WEATHER RADAR

Mentioned above are several things to prepare yourself for crappy weather, but if you really want to know if it's going to rain on your race is to watch that radar!

GET THERE EARLY / LEAVE RIGHT BEFORE IT ENDS / TAKE BACK ROADS TO GET HOME

Getting there early will allow you to not miss out on the pre-race events they have as well as driver introductions! There's always some exciting things going on right before the green flag is dropped! Leaving slightly before it ends with let's say maybe 15-20 laps to go will allow you to miss the majority of traffic from everyone who did stay till the end...which usually is a LOT of people! When you finally get on the road, I seriously recommend you take back roads! All the main roads around the track are going to be blocked off, backed up or closed completely!

Now that you've read my few things, you're pretty much as ready as you're gonna be to experience a Nascar race for yourself! I hope you have the best time and find my article helpful!
